“It is not the mountain that we conquer, but ourselves” - Sir Edmund Hillary
Welcome to the Terra Australis 21-27 MARCH, 2010
Terra Australis is an epic seven-day Mountain Bike journey. An unforgettable adventure that will take you from the heights of Victoria’s Alpine Resorts, through historic high country villages and Australia’s premier gourmet food and wine region. Jaw dropping scenery, Nirvana single track and an amazing natural environment are all part of the experience. Every competitor will be rewarded with a personal victory over the course, over the elements and over your mind, body and soul. If you are looking for the ultimate Mountain Bike endurance challenge then you need to be on the start line of Terra Australis on March 21st 2010.
Riders can enter in a team of 2 or 3 but this is not a relay style event like the popular 12/24 hour Enduros. It’s about you and your teammate working together side by side for 7 spectacular days of Mountain Biking. Imagine it, grinding out every pedal stroke towards a common goal….the finish line of Terra Australis 2010.
Teams of 2 are for the serious racers and hardcore weekend warriors. They must complete each individual stage together and then step up and do it all again the next day. It will be a huge challenge but lets face it, that’s why you are doing it. Every gruelling climb and white knuckle descent, every kilometre of sweet single track will forge an unbreakable bond and reward you with a lifetime of memories.
Teams of 3 are for the rest of us mere mortals. After all we want to offer the TERRA AUSTRALIS experience to as many people as possible. You will have the same memories to take away but this category is more of a recreational category. Don’t get the wrong impression here; it will still be a challenge, but If your not ready for the “Full Monty” or just want to see what all the fuss is about then this category is for you. Each day all three riders in the team can ride together with an option for one rider to sit out on any single days stage. So long as 2 of the 3 team riders are on course each day, that's all that it required to complete the course as a team of 3. You may not get the accolades of the 2 man teams but you will get to be part of TERRA AUSTRALIS on your terms and not ours.
Read about our Terra Australis Ambassadors and see what they have to say about this Epic MTB Event.
Not only do you get to be part of an epic MTB experience with riders from around the globe. If you need it you get support too. To find out more about our rider support packages check out the support page.
So hook up with a partner as entries for the 2010 TERRA AUSTRALIS are now open. This is one MTB event you will not want to miss.
